Volunteering
opportunities with Crane Park Island Project.
The Project holds a conservation work day on the last Sunday of every
month. This is your chance to to help take care of your local nature
reserve, meet like minded people and really help out with the management
of this lovely nature reserve.
No special skills are needed and there are always tasks to suit all
levels of fitness and ability. From scrub clearance to nest box maintenance,
reed bed management to tree care, this is an ideal opportunity to
get outdoors and really make a difference to your local environment.

Shot
Tower visitor and nature centre wardens.
When work on the old shot tower visitor and nature centre is complete
in 2003 we will be looking for volunteer weekend wardens to help keep
the tower open as a visitor attraction. The Shot Tower and its surrounding
area have a fascinating history and we anticipate a lot of interest
from local people who will want to visit the tower and find out more
about its amazing past. If you have an interest in local history and/or
wildlife this could be just the opportunity for you. Please contact
us if you are interested in finding out more about this interesting
volunteering opportunity.

The
reedbed on Crane Park Island was planted by volunteers several years
ago and help is always needed to take care of this increasingly rare
habitat.
